How can I install Skype on Freya?
Removing previous version(If you have)
sudo apt-get remove skype skype-bin:i386 skype:i386
sudo apt-get install sni-qt:i386
Clear the old Skype folder before installing latest version.
rm -rf ~/....

Skype - can't install it on Freya
This is the normal result (unmet dependencies) with apt-get when there is a need to remove or replace a package with its other arch. The message is clear in aptitude command:
xdg-user-dirs : ...

Skype for Linux Alpha Wingpanel Indicator
There is a mod for this on Ask Ubuntu. It allows you to use any icons you want, but the package listed to download is a monochrome that goes well with elementary.
