Sometimes (notably when my laptop is not connected to a power source, but sometimes when it is), when I start FireFox the whole UI dies.

I'm using

  • elementary OS 5.1.7 Hera
  • HP pavilion laptop
  • DKMS source for the Realtek 8821C PCIe WiFi driver (to make the laptop work)

This has been occurring for a couple of months now. Any way I can get more diagnostics? Anybody got any clue what's going on?

-- edit --

way out of my league here, but my syslog says:

When the UI crashes there may be some information in /var/log/syslog reporting the issue. If you can edit your question to include some of the log data, then it may be possible to begin solving the problem 👍🏻
