Whenever I receive a notification from Discord, my entire system freezes for about 5 seconds. Mouse movement still works. But anything else that moves on the screen, like a playing video, becomes unresponsive during that freeze duration. I can still click on stuff and type, but I won't see anything typing or updating. I can replicate the issue without Discord notifications but using notify-send through terminal.
I saw this post describing my exact issue. I tried to install notify-osd, but to no avail. I tried installing notification-daemon, xfce4-notifyd, dunst... but none of fixed my issue.
I've used Linux for a bit, but haven't dived too deep into its inner workings.
What is the fix for this?
