My MacBook is a 2018 13-inch MacBook Pro with MacOS 10.15.5. I created a bootable USB stick using balenaEtcher. Version is 5.1-stable.20200603 and I did confirm the shasum hash. When booting I first see two EFI entries in the boot selection and when booting the second one I do get into the GRUB splash screen. Next I see this error: error message after booting from grub

  • I don't have an answer to your specific question. But even if you can get past that stage, you're goingt to have a hard time running ANY linux distribution on Apple hardware that new. All of the custom proprietary hardware (keyboard, trackpad, etc) plus the security like the T2 chip, make them not very well supported by linux. – David Hewitt Jun 29 at 9:44
