I've just moved from Mint 19.3 to Elementary 5.1.5 and I'm not finding the proper keyboard configuration. I've selected two options but both present the same problem:

  • Brazilian Portuguese language and a native american keyboard
  • English language and a US international keyboard I'm choosing this setup because I bought the notebook in HK with american keyboard. Everything works fine except the simple and double quotes. I'm using Python and I'm getting a syntax error (invalid quote character) when I try to send a simple instruction to print some text. That's because the quotes are not the right ones and I don't know how to change them although they appear on the layout. The system is using the ones on the left while the correct ones are on the right side.

I don't know how to select the right part of the keys on the layout.
