Since about two hours I am trying to get bluetooth to run. I managed to start the bluetooth service only after using this posts answer

Afterwards the output of systemctl status bluetooth looked like this:

systemctl status bluetooth
● bluetooth.service - Bluetooth service
Loaded: loaded (/lib/systemd/system/bluetooth.service; enabled; vendor preset: enabled)
Active: active (running) since Sun 2019-03-10 22:10:58 CET; 2s ago
     Docs: man:bluetoothd(8)
 Main PID: 27261 (bluetoothd)
   Status: "Running"
    Tasks: 1 (limit: 4915)
   CGroup: /system.slice/bluetooth.service
           └─27261 /usr/lib/bluetooth/bluetoothd

However I am still completely unable to connect anything via bluetooth. when i start blueman, I see this stuff:

enter image description here

In addition when I sudo service restart bluetooth and then open blueman it tells me that "bluetooth needs to be turned on for this device to function" and offers me the options cancel or "enable bluetooth". when I click on the latter I get the above mentioned blank screen (see screenshot above).

Additional info: - I run elementary-os on a lenove-u430-ideapad, since about 2 weeks (guess then it should be elementary juno) - I also tried using a newer version of bluez (5.50), but that didn't change anything either - I also do not have a bluetooth icon in the upper right corner (the required package is installed though)

My questions:

  • Any ideas what I could still try?
  • Can it be that my bluetooth device is not supported by Ubuntu? If yes, do bluetooth-usb-sticks help?

Update: I realised that my wifi-interface is also doing the bluetooth stuff. Since my Wifi is broken since a while, the bluetooth likely doesn't work either. Therefore there is no way I can get my bluetooth to run :(
