Is there a way to have the "standard" CTRL symbol (^) in menus and settings instead of the Apple key? (⌘)

Primarily the "shortcuts" settings panel, I don't understand anything on it.

And the other logo ⌥ instead of Alt. (or it is the Win key? I dunno)

I'd like to see ^+N instead of ⌘+N or CTRL+ALT+P instead of ⌘+⌥+P

It does automatically because it sees that's I'm using an iMac? But I'm using a PC keyboard and it's extremely confusing.

I am not an Apple user and I have no idea what ⌥ and ⌘ are, I always have to google what they mean.
